Choral Workshop: Mozart Requiem with John Butt OBE
About
Experience Mozart's Requiem with one of Britain's finest musical minds. John Butt, director of the Dunedin Consort's Gramophone Award-winning recording of this piece, will lead a transformative workshop, bringing the work's profound beauty to life alongside soloists from the ensemble itself.Whether you're seeking fresh insights into a familiar piece or are keen to start learning from scratch, you'll gain invaluable understanding of Mozart's genius while discovering what it means to sing at the highest level. This is a rare chance to learn directly from a world-class conductor and be part of something truly exceptional.
Music Edition:
To keep with the traditional heritage of the Requiem, we will be using the Sussmayr edition of the Requiem and would recommend using the Breitkopf Edition of the score. If you don't have this copy of the score, you can purchase copies from us when selecting tickets.
Pay What You Can:
We believe that music should be accessible to everyone, so this workshop is offered on a pay what you can basis.
To help cover the costs of this inaugural charity event, including our professional soloists and accompanists, we suggest a contribution of £30.
If you are able to give more, a contribution of £60 or above will help make the event possible for someone who might otherwise be unable to attend.
Equally, if £30 isn't affordable, please don't let cost prevent you from joining us. Every contribution, whatever its size, is greatly appreciated.
Young People:
This event will be free for anyone of primary or secondary school age to encourage and support young people getting involved in classical music within the community.
