- The roles and responsibilities of the First Aider
- Assessing an incident
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty who is breathing - recovery position
- Choking
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Bleeding, grazes, embedded objects
- Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
- Shock
- Burns and scalds
- Fitting and seizures
- Stroke
- Heart Attack and Angina
- Eye injury
- Head injury
- Spinal injury
- Poisoning
- Diabetes
- Breaks, fractures and dislocations

- Severe Allergic Reaction - Anaphylaxis
Course Prerequisites:
This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities associated with being a workplace first aider.
It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real scenario. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor and placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position. Therefore the candidate must be physically capable of completing these tasks successfully.
