• Successful students receive a certificate valid for 3 years

• The roles and responsibilities of the First Aider 
• Assessing an incident 
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty who is breathing - recovery position 
• Choking 
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) 
• Bleeding, grazes, embedded objects 
• Automated External Defibrillators (AED) 
• Shock 
• Burns and scalds 
• Fitting and seizures 
• Stroke 
• Heart Attack and Angina 
• Eye injury 
• Head injury 
• Spinal injury 
• Poisoning 
• Diabetes 
• Breaks, fractures and dislocations 
• Asthma 
• Severe Allergic Reaction - Anaphylaxis 

Course Prerequisites:

This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities associated with being a workplace first aider.

It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real scenario. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor and placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position. Therefore the candidate must be physically capable of completing these tasks successfully.
