"Bright Apollo's Lute"
This concert begins with a Elizabethan and Jacobean repertoire for lute, by renowned composer/players: John Dowland, Robert Johnson, and Daniel Batchelar, followed by dances, variations, and a wild ‘toccata’ on the new-fashioned theorbo by composers Robert de Visée. With transcriptions of heavenly operatic tunes by Jean-Baptiste Lully, and a lively chaconne to round off the performance.
