The Famous Autumn Red Deer Rut in the Ullswater & Martindale area of the Lake District is a hidden gem as the bellowing of stags echoes around Martindale and Boredale. Join us with your binoculars to experience this truly magical connection to nature. Our guides and qualified local Mountain Leaders will be giving you the story of the Red Deer in these valleys and help you spot the herds near and far.
Your walk will be a journey into the Ullswater Valleys, learning as you walk, whilst escaping everyday life you can immerse yourself into the life of our Red Deer. Each walker must be comfortable with walking on typical Lake District paths with some slightly technical walking, albeit on trails, with a 6 mile walk with approximately 600m ascent each day. Our qualified Mountain Leaders will be with you every step to guide and help and give tips to those not familiar with the terrain.
