New Years Day Tillingbourne Valley 10 mile Hike

A beautiful and historical hike around the stunning Tillingbourne Valley to start the 2023 off the right way!

Join North Downs Way Ambassador Pete Lambert on this stunning 10 mile hike around the enchanting Tillingbourne Valley.

On this hillwalking extravaganza we trek over Blackheath, Albury, Shere, The Silent Pool, Newlands Corner and St. Martha's before descending back into Chilworth to the Percy Arms for a well-earned drink.

Along the way we will see local landmarks and amazing scenery such as The Silent Pool which has some legendary tales, St. Martha's Church and Chilworth Gunpowder Mills.
There will also be a couple of pit-stops along the way for toilet breaks and food.

Bring with you suitable clothes for the weather as well as water/fluids and food. Good walking boots/shoes are a must. Also bring with you hand sanitiser if you are going over stiles or opening gates.
Dogs are welcome but we do insist they are kept on a lead due to farmland.

This walk is long and hilly, so a reasonable level of fitness is expected
