Delicate, bold, brightly coloured, patterned and plain; the UK has over 2,500 species of moth - but just how much do you know about these beautiful, often overlooked, insects?Local ecologist, Rob Foster, began his moth exploration during lockdown and has never looked back!
Important in their own right, these lovely creatures are also a key part of the wider eco-system; providing food for birds, bats and small mammals. And crucially, being sensitive to change, they are vital indicators of the health of our environment.
Join us online as Rob shares his fascination with Bowland's moths in all their glory - including the discovery of two new sites for the nationally scarce Manchester Treble-bar.
