"On a fine day there is not a more pleasant sea ride in the Kingdom." wrote Thomas West in "Antiquities of Furness" in 1774Join King's Guide to the Sands, Michael Wilson on this iconic walk across the Sands of Morecambe Bay in aid of the Save Ruskin's View appeal, which has been set up to raise the £1 million needed to fund the works necessary to reopen Church Brow in Kirkby Lonsdale - the footpath above the River Lune that looks out over the iconic view painted by JMW Turner.
The walk is usually between 6 and 8 miles. Families and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
