A series of detailed investigations along the line of Hadrian's Wall, beginning in the west at Bowness-on-Solway.Section 3 follows the line of the Wall from Banks Turret to Gilsland looking for evidence of where the Wall once lay and describes other features of interest along the way.
On this virtual tour, we will come across some intriguing discoveries, including first sight of the Turf Wall, a Roman bridge illustrating Roman engineering techniques and a fine section of Hadrian's Wall containing two phallic symbols and a centurial stone actually built into the Wall itself.
