Step into the world of the notorious Early Romantics with this dramatic presentation of two giants from 19th-century music and literature: Ludwig van Beethoven and his Nottingham counterpart, the poet Lord Byron.
The Villiers Quartet perform Beethoven’s deeply emotional String Quartet Op. 130, with its famous slow Cavatina movement. They are joined by Martin Berry of Nottingham Playhouse, who delivers readings of Byron’s poetry, all performed in the magical atmosphere of St Mary’s in the Lace Market, the oldest building in Nottingham’s city centre.
