An evening with Shear BrassLed by Sir George Shearing’s great nephew, drummer Carl Gorham, ‘Shear Brass’ brings a fresh and dynamic new approach to one of Britain’s greatest ever jazz musicians and composers.
Featuring an array of outstanding musicians whose credits include Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, the Ronnie Scott All Stars, Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, Dizzy Gillespie, Tom Jones, and Joss Stone, its richly varied live show, ‘Celebrating Sir George Shearing’ encompasses Swing, Be-Bop, Cool and Latin influences as well as some of the most celebrated vocal numbers of the 2Oth century.
Part musical celebration, part family history, ‘Celebrating Sir George Shearing’ is a joyous celebration of the man and his legacy.
Shear Brass’ debut album “Celebrating Sir George Shearing” is released on September 1st on Ubuntu Music and will be available at the concert.
