From Toulouse, France, Super Panela have p;layed together for seven year to establish their unique position. Their music is deeply rooted in ancestral chants and rhythms of the caribbean and pacific coasts of Colombia, a concoction of African, Amerindian and European influences. Modern, because by paying homage to this music, Super Panela has kneaded, digested and seasoned it in its own special way, to create a fresh sound, a unique voice within current Latin and festive music.The mixture of traditional instruments, brass and percussion results in a warm and powerful sound, sometimes evoking the great tropical orchestras of the 50’s and other Fela’s Afrobeat or Fruko’s Salsa. Originals and highly revisited covers come together wonderfully and give the band all its uniqueness.
