Drawn to War - Film Screening
About
Please join us for a special evening with SPGS alumna, film director Margy Kinmonth. Margy will be in conversation about her film Drawn to War with SPGS Head of History of Art, Kate Evans. This multi award-winning documentary is set against the dramatic wartime locations that inspired Eric Ravilious, one of Britain’s greatest landscape artists. The film brings to life this brilliant but still grossly undervalued British artist.Eric Ravilious is as compelling and enigmatic as his art. Killed in a plane crash while on commission as Official War Artist in Iceland in 1942, his legacy largely sank without trace, until now.
The film features Ai Weiwei, Alan Bennett, Grayson Perry, Robert Macfarlane, Freddie Fox, Tamsin Greig.
