Wheathampstead walk, Hertfordshire
About
Wheathampstead is a village on the River Lea, we will begin the walk by crossing the river and then follow some ancient transport routes through the open countryside. This small group walk will not involve steep hills, much of the surface is flat, although there are obstacles such as tree roots and rocks underfoot. There are no stiles. This is a good walk for anyone not yet ready for hills but is looking for a day out in the countryside not far from London. We are likely to pass fields of horses and sheep, and may see deer if we are lucky. This is a good summer walk as there are lots of shaded areas. The walk will be led by Emma, a disabled mountain leader who knows the area well. The pace will be slow with frequent breaks, ideally suited for others with disabilities. No toilets. Please email with accessibility questions.
