Shalford & Chinthurst Hill
About
A lovely Summer Hike exploring the hidden gems of Shalford and Wonersh
Join North Downs Way Ambassador and Surrey Hills Guide Pete Lambert on this lovely enjoyable trek around Shalford and Wonersh.
This walk will explore the lesser known areas of Shalford, then climb the steep Chinthurst Hill, before following the Downs-link back along the Wey and Arun Canal to the River Wey and then back to the Parrot
There is some great history along the route including Shalford Mill, Chinthurst Hill and the disused railway station at Wonersh.
The Parrot is now closed so we will probably drive back to the Seahorse in Shalford for a drink after and a bite to eat for those that are feeling peckish.
The walk starts at 11:am on the dot with or without you so start meeting from 10:30 to make sure you don't miss out
Dress for the weather and bring with you fluids and maybe a sandwich and other snacks for energy.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but there is a lot crossing farmland and also a bit of road walking so it is essential that they are kept on a lead.
All walks are led by experienced guides with full first aid qualification.
