Christmas Concert 2023
Wimbledon Choral Neil Ferris (conductor) Michael Higgins (piano/organ)
Saturday 16th December 2023 3pm & 6pm St Paul's Church (Parkside) * Please note start time options *
Come and join in Wimbledon Choral's popular Christmas concert with music traditional and new, and with plenty of pieces in which you can participate. There is typically some silliness at the end. You'll need to come to find out what that is!
Favourites like O Come, all ye faithful and Hark! The herald angels sing will be included as well as pieces by contemporary composers Eleanor Daley, Jamie W Hall, John Rutter, Becky McGlade, Philip Cooke and, of course, Michael Higgins - notably his beautiful Still, still, still.
Jamie W Hall (right) is also a fine singer and those of you who were at our performance of Bach's St John Passion in March earlier this year in Southwark Cathedral may remember him as one of the soloists. Jamie's piece, O Nata Lux, is written as part of his Choirs Against Cancer project that raises money for MacMillan Cancer Support. There's an article about it in Choir & Organ magazine and some background for why he started the project. More information about it can be found on its Crowdfunding page where there is an opportunity to donate should you wish to do so.
At the concert itself there will be a retiring collection for two local charities. We look forward very much to seeing you on the day.
Special Christmas Offer : Two kids for the price of one! For every two children for whom you buy tickets, the second one goes free!
