The leading lights of the village are gathered to plan for their forthcoming village pageant ‘The Massacre of the Pendon Twelve’. One member of the group is determined to take the opportunity to stage a proletarian revolution. The planning process degenerates into a symbolic battlefield between conflicting views. Emotion overtakes better judgement as the event turns into a passionate confrontation between extremes leading to an hilarious finale to this wonderfully funny play.
