A chance to hear the work of up-and-coming young composers – and to gain an insight into composing techniques, including writing for particular instruments. Seven compositions for soprano and piano, written by young people aged 21 and under, will be performed and workshopped by professional musicians, with each composer receiving individual feedback and advice from the musicians and from composer Ewan Campbell.
A morning and afternoon session will be held with a break for lunch at aprox 12.30pm. The Workshop will resume at 2pm, with another break at around 3pm. At 3.30pm there will be a celebratory performance of all the pieces, with the day ending at aproximately 4.15pm. Audience members are welcome to drop in at any time.
The Chapel at Churchill is a separate building at the far side of the college grounds. Parking is available in the car park at the very end of Churchill Road, off Storeys Way.
