Gardens of Easton Lodge Sunday 19th May, Art and nature in the Gardens
Our second Sunday Open Day of our main season.
With spring in the air, there will be a pop up art exhibition and lots of nature activities for visitors, lead by an experienced biologist.
Local artist Jane Frederick will be presenting her work from her time as Artist in Residence at Essex Gardens Trust. Her Garden Seekers exhibition provides an artistic lens on 6 historic gardens in Essex, including Easton Lodge. Her works explore how manmade optical interventions can draw us deeper into gardens and their history.
Nature activities will include pond dipping and Essex Bat Group will be with us to explain about the lives of the bats that frequent the Gardens. Children and their adults will also enjoy a trail, the treehouse and the Gardens in vivid green and spring colours.
Plant stall and craft stalls.
Hot bacon/cheese/hummus rolls, homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks available.
Visitors will also have access to the Warwick House gardens.
Visitors can enjoy hot and cold refreshments provided by the Trust’s volunteers. The Gardens will open at 11.00 and close at 5pm, last entry 4pm.
