About
Our next EM CoP will be split into two parts:The new Higher Education (Free Speech) Act 2023 contains additional requirements for universities and students’ unions in relation to freedom of speech and academic freedom.
As event managers this new legislation means a change to our processes of sourcing and booking speakers for events. During this next EM CoP session we will be looking at what these changes are and providing training on the new UoN Free Speech Code of Practice.
All colleagues organising events need to familiarise themselves with and are now required to adhere to the new process before potential speakers can be approached for events.
The second part for the session will be an extended opportunity to network, sit around a table with colleagues who host similar events and share ideas.

When: Thursday 1st August, 9:30-11am
Unlike previous EM CoP sessions this session will commence promptly at 9:30am.
