Welcome & Installation Service of the Archdeacon of Carlisle

All are welcome to attend a special service at Carlisle Cathedral to welcome and install the Diocese of Carlisle’s new Archdeacon of Carlisle. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.The Rev Ruth Newton will be installed on Sunday 8 September at 3pm and will take responsibility for the Deaneries of Carlisle, Brampton, Penrith and Appleby.
Ruth was born and raised in Carlisle, later working in the city and, following ordination in 2002, serving the parishes of Caldbeck, Castle Sowerby and Sebergham. Most recently she has served as a Vicar near Ripon.
After the service refreshments will be served in The Fratry; spaces are limited to 200 people and bookings for refreshments can be made when you book.
