This programme is suitable for class-based teaching assistants, those delivering interventions and 1 to 1 assistants.
Desired Outcomes from this Programme
• Improved interactions and effective questioning with pupils to facilitate deeper learning for pupils.
• Further developing skills for activating prior learning
• Understanding the impact of cognitive overload and how to reduce it
• Supporting children to develop their metacognitive skills and to be self-regulated in their learning
• Understanding the principles behind effective classroom talk
• Carefully scaffolding pupils’ learning to encourage and develop pupil independence, resilience and confidence
• Support the assessment of learning
• Support group work and collaborative tasks
