About

All are invited to the annual Leicester Community Carol Service in the beautiful, candlelit setting of St James the Greater Church. Following the success of the previous two carol services: 'Caring at Christmas' & 'Tears and Celebration', we present 'Anniversary' with a collection in aid of LOROS - Hospice Care for Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, and St James the Greater Church. In the presence of and with readings read by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire, the Lord Mayor of Leicester, the Chairman of Leicestershire County Council and the High Sheriff of Leicestershire. Readings & poems from local celebrities telling the Christmas story with a theme of local and national anniversaries. Join in with your favourite carols led by the Junior & Senior choirs of St James the Greater, organ & brass band, and listen to professional soloists and vocal groups performing a mix of traditional and popular music - there's something for everyone! Followed by festive refreshments.
