‘Listen, Stranger!’: Poetry and Paint workshop (CANCELLED)
About
Led by artist Alison Critchlow and Susan Allen, this is a creative, drawing, painting and writing workshop based on Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner! Using images from Wordswoth Grasmere's art collection, including illustrations by Gustave Dore, Mervyn Peake and Duncan Grant, this practical creative session will dive deep into the world of Coleridge's Ancient Mariner – its themes and relevance, a perfect story for the autumnal months. Expect to head home with paintings, poems, thoughts and curiosity turned up to full volume!No previous experience needed, all materials are provided, just bring along an apron or old shirt and a picnic lunch. Tea and coffee will be freely available during the day.
