Luigi Cherubini's Requiem in C minor, composed in 1816, is one of the most notable and respected works in the choral-orchestral repertory, particularly for its emotional depth and innovative treatment of the traditional Requiem mass. Written in memory of King Louis XVI of France, the piece is known for its dramatic intensity and striking harmonic language, which was ahead of its time.The Choir wil also perform a selection of classic opera choruses including well known pieces by Bizet, Mascagni, Rossini and Verdi
