Elijah

The Lancaster & District Choral Society will perform the ever popular Oratoria Elijah written by Felix Mendelssohn.
This remarkable work was composed in 1846 and has a long association with English choral singing.
It was commissioned by the Birmingham Triennial Musical Festival and sung at the premier by the Birmingham Festival Choral Society.
Elijah was a great success and was repeatedly performed at subsequent Festivals. As the Choral Society rehearses the work, we appreciate that it is truly great music, which we enjoy singing. We hope we can infect you, the audience, with this enthusiasm.
Conductor - John Perrin
Orchestra and Soloists to be announced
