COME & JOIN US FOR OUR LITTER PICK & PLANTING DAY - Meeting 10am on Saturday 22 February 2025 at the greenway pedestrian and cyclist footpath, Hilmore Way, Morecambe.WHAT TO BRING
All litter picking and planting equipment will be provided on the day. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The People’s Jury on Climate Change are working alongside City Council and the Good Things Collective as part of a community led creative refresh, repair and revitalisation of a corner of Morecambe using £15,000 secured through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. On 25th January, an initial litter pick of the site took place. The visual impact 30 minutes of litter picking by volunteers to the site was massive. Since then, our public realm team has been working hard to transform the area, clearing much of the dead greenery and brambles away. This process has revealed more litter needs picking to clean up the site before new planting takes place.
