Once your community garden is overflowing with a bountiful harvest, you will want to know how to pick and pack your veg in such a way that you encourage the plants to remain productive and you lengthen the shelf life of your produce. Join us at the Plot on a harvest day and you will:Understand how to harvest a range of crops efficiently
Work alongside experienced growers to see how to pick and pack crops at scale
Consider packaging and what is needed to best preserve different types of food
Join us 5th August 2025, from 11am to 1pm to learn how to harvest and package produce! Join organic market gardener and FarmStart trainer Dionysios "Dennis" Touliatos at The Plot. During this activity Dennis will teach all the basics about how to harvest produce straight from the farm, how to package it to ensure food safety and health and the specific requirements for commercialisation of local fruits and vegetables.
