Making Woodland Work

Cumbria Woodlands and Grown in Britain bring you the first of two Spring webinars.

Join us on Wednesday, 12th March 2025, 6-7 pm, for a comprehensive session with leading experts from across the forestry sector.

Chaired by Dougal Driver, CEO of Grown in Britain, our panel includes:

  • Jo Clark, Head of Research at Future Trees Trust
  • Lochlan Dulson, Cumbria Woodlands
  • Peter Fox, Forestry Commission
  • Charles Robinson, Robinson Forestry
  • Joan Webber, Principal Pathologist at Forest Research

Our discussion will guide you through:

  • Practical silviculture approaches that enhance timber quality while maintaining financial viability
  • Current and emerging markets across timber, carbon, nature, and water
  • Essential certification pathways including Grown in Britain and Plant Healthy standards
  • Critical updates on current and emerging pest and disease challenges

This webinar also includes an extended Q&A session, allowing you to engage directly with industry leaders and get your specific questions answered.

Grown in Britain works at every stage of the forest product supply chain to support the use of UK timber through certification of projects, woodlands and forest product supply chains.

With over 30 years of woodland management expertise and as proud Grown in Britain certificate holders, Cumbria Woodlands have partnered with GiB to bring you essential insights for successful woodland management and development.

Join us for an informative and insightful evening!

Please Note- The webinar will be recorded and hosted on the Cumbria Woodlands YouTube channel after the event.

Both webinars are free to attend thanks to support from the Trees Call to Action Fund.

The fund was developed by Defra in partnership with the Forestry Commission and is being delivered by the Heritage Fund.
