The 46th Annual Willaston World Worm Charming Championships is taking place on Saturday 21st June 2025. Gates Open at 1pm. The ‘Charming period’ is between 2pm - 2:30pm.There will be a bar, hot food, inflatables, rides, ice creams, sweet treats, face painting and external stall holders selling lots of exciting things. This is a community event with people travelling from across the globe to be at this one of a kind event.
There are two types of plots available to purchase in advance (booking fee applies)
- A Traditional Plot priced £10 can be used by a maximum of two adults and two children – these team members must remain the same throughout the “charming period”.
- A Team Plot priced at £15 is available to those who wish to enter as a larger group and swap team members during the “charming period” (still with a maximum of two adults and two children on the plot at any one time).
'Adults' are classed as anyone over 12 years old.
There are a limited number of both Traditional and Team Plots and these will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Plots will be allocated on a random basis, close to the event.
You will need to bring all 'worm charming' equipment with you and you must ensure that anything sharp (such as a garden fork) has the points covered either side of the charming period to prevent injury.
The 'Worm Charming' period will commence at 2pm, please ensure you have visited the worm charming tent on the field to find out your plot number and collect your pot to house your charmed worms before this time. Gates open from 1pm.
