'Inspiration, Application, Fabrication, Dedication'
Glasgow to Liverpool and back again, and some places in between
Born in Glasgow, Alan pursued an interesting career in Clinical Biochemistry and further research and patient care which look him around the world for conferences and committees. He worked in Stockholm then as a consultant at Glasgow Royal Infirmary followed by a post at the University of Liverpool as the inaugural Professor of Clinical Biochemistry. Alan returned to Glasgow after his retirement and travelled extensively with his late wife Leonna, but needed more to do, so took on the chairmanship of Glasgow Hebrew Burial Society where he led the successful restoration of Glenduffhill Cemetery, including tree planting and flower beds, until 2024.
