About
'As You Like It' is probably Shakespeare's most entrancing romantic comedy. Rosalind, the daughter of a displaced Duke, is banished by her uncle, Duke Frederick. Along with her cousin Celia, she escapes to the Forest of Arden, disguised as a man. There they meet a number of other notable characters and romance, comedy, music and much jollity ensues.
The play includes the famous speech, 'the Seven Ages of Man' which begins 'All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players.'
Our Drama is performed for us by the Festival Players International , patron Dame Judi Dench, in Caerleon's famous Roman Amphitheatre .
The Drama is preceded by the Pontnewydd Male Choir who last year celebrated 120 years of continuous existence.
