Kham Duo: POSTPONED to NOVEMBER (CANCELLED)
About
This intimate performance at the Historic Courtrooms of the Guildhall, Cambridge, promises an unforgettable experience where evocative melodies and raw acoustic textures captivate the audience. Palestinian Nay Master Faris Ishaq explores the untapped potential of the ancient Middle Eastern flute, dating back to 5000 B.C., blending tradition and modernity. Self-taught and a Berklee College of Music scholar, Faris has collaborated with Grammy-winner John Patitucci and appeared in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage (2023). His work preserves the traditional Palestinian Nay style while pioneering jazz. The Kham Duo, with Faris and Australian jazz harpist Tara Minton, creates a unique dialogue between the Nay and harp, fusing tradition and innovation into an immersive sonic journey. This collaboration offers a rare chance to experience the raw, pure sound of the Nay, bridging the past and present in an extraordinary cultural and musical exploration that will resonate long after the performance ends.Location
