About

This practical, interactive session, led by Jo Doughty of alwaysbeingsocial.co.uk, will focus on helping attendees:

• build confidence using Facebook and Instagram, including which features to focus on
• understand how to use social media strategically, not just reactively
• learn what to post, when, and why
• attract the right audiences - supporters, fundraisers and volunteers
• improve visibility and impact without relying on a big team or budget
• using platform features such as Reels and Carousels, and basic analytics to stay consistent and make better decisions

The day will be spread over approx six hours and broken into four 90-minute sessions:

1) Building a social media strategy that works → Helping charities get clear on their goals, audience, and key content pillars so they can post with purpose.

2) Facebook for charities → Focusing on the power of community, storytelling, platform tools and events to build visibility and trust with supporters and locals. Inc how to handle DMs & comments.

3) Instagram for growth → An overview of Instagram inc Reels* , Carousels, Stories and the best ways for charities to increase reach & engagement without needing polished content or a huge team.

4) Consistency & measurement → Making social media manageable, with practical tools for planning, batching and tracking what’s working and what’s not.

5) Q&A session - allowing time for questions from attendees.
