In health and public sector contexts, data is routinely collected, analysed, and visualized to support operational decisions, policy-making and service evaluation. Yet, these data practices often remain disconnected from the lived experiences of the individuals and communities they aim to represent. In this talk, Mai explores how visualization can act as a connective medium—one that bridges the gap between abstracted routine data and the complexity of human experience. Mai will share & discuss design strategies, methodological reflections, case study findings that foreground co-production with staff, patients & citizens.
