About
1st4Sport Level 4 Award In the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (L4AIQA)
This qualification is designed to provide learners with a qualification to confirm competency of their Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Practice. The qualification assesses the performance of learning and development practitioners who maintain the quality of assessment within an organisation or assessment centre (ie internal verifier).
Who is the course for?
The qualification is designed to upskill assessors within their specialist subject area, to internally quality assure assessments. Ultimately, the qualification is ideal for experienced assessors who are looking to become an internal quality assurer and quality assure practice for vocational coaching qualifications.
What's the value of the course?
Successful learners are eligible to seek employment in appropriate paid or voluntary internal quality assurance roles within their specialist subject area, to internally quality assure assessments.
Leaner eligibility
Learners must:
•Be at least 18 years of age
•Be appropriately identified
•Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing)
•Hold an assessing qualification
•Have access to internal quality assurance opportunities
Assessment
Learners must:
•complete a series of written tasks contained within the Learner Portfolio
•produce or review an IQA strategy and provide a rationale
•produce or review a sampling plan with a rationale
•plan and delivery of the IQA interventions
Format / duration
This qualification is delivered in one of two formats. Please view the options at the bottom of the page to understand which options are available:
1. Virtual session: This involves a minimum of 2 virtual sessions (the second session will be decided upon at the first virtual session)
2. Face to face tutored delivery
Individuals must have access within their current role to internally quality assure assessments for qualifications, accredited programmes of study with assessments, or job related assessments in the relevant environment in order to complete all elements of the qualification.
Assessor Criteria
Due to the assessment requirements for this qualification, learners need to be observed quality assuring in their own environment. Learners are welcome to source their own assessors (that meet the assessor criteria). Alternatively, we can support in sourcing an appropriately qualified assessor. Progression opportunities
Having gained further experience in internal quality assurance, learners with responsibility for co-ordinating/leading a team of internal quality assurers, could progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
