Vivify celebrates the return of the warm weather with a sequence of music on the theme of the birds and the bees. The bees are supplied by John Wilbye, whose classic ‘Sweet honey-sucking bees’ is here joined by the equally brilliant but less well-known ‘All pleasure is of this condition’. A whole flock of birds will feature, including three birds of paradise, two swans, one duck, and the most important musical bird of the Renaissance: William Byrd.Date
