About
Are you caring for someone who uses alcohol or drugs, or interested in learning more about this?Caring for someone who uses alcohol or drugs can be challenging and isolating. Sometimes it’s hard to find and speak to the right professionals. We will explore the unique needs of carers in this caring situation and the types of support available to you.
This session will explore the types of support we, at Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs, know can help.
We will also take a look at the ways in which you should be included in the care of your loved one, your rights as a carer, and what to do if these rights are being breached.
The session will cover:
• Caring for someone who uses alcohol and drugs
• Your rights as a carer
• Family inclusive practice
• Family support
• Taking action and advocacy
This session is open to anyone who is affected by this issue, including carers and professionals.
