‘A Taste of Burlesque’ - with Seedy Frills

Join international, multi-award winning Burlesque Performer, Seedy Frills, for ‘a taste of Burlesque!’In this Burlesque taster workshop you will discover what Burlesque is and isn’t by looking at some common misconceptions, and find out how Burlesque has evolved by taking a look into it’s rich history.
You will then be taught a Burlesque-inspired dance routine which will introduce some key Burlesque performance elements such as posing, the shimmy, the bump and grind and the use of costume to tell a story.
What to bring:
-A pair of gloves - ideally elbow-length opera gloves.
-Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident to dance in, whether that’s trackies, shorts and a t-shirt, gym wear, a leotard, hot pants etc (socks or dance shoes are both fine - heels are optional)
-A water bottle.
This workshop is open to everyone aged 18+. No dance experience is needed.
