A full-day, free CPD most suited to Secondary Music ECTs, new department leads and department leads without a formal background in music.This supportive and practical session focuses on the core responsibilities of a secondary music specialist and how to build a sustainable, impactful music curriculum.
Key Topics: KS2–KS3 Transition: Managing varied levels of prior learning. Curriculum Planning: Balancing topics vs. skills; effective progression mapping. Music Development Plans: Creating a strategic plan for your department. External Partnerships: Working with Music Hubs, peripatetic staff, trips, and visitors. Wellbeing & Boundaries: Maintaining personal and professional sustainability.
The day will be facilitated by Zoe Marksford, Kent Music School Support and Development Manager.
There is a non-attendance charge of £35 to cover refreshments, lunch and materials. Please give 48 hours notice of cancellation (not including weekends/holidays). Please read full Ts & Cs.
