In 1597, amidst the threat of plague and the quiet of Cornwall, Shakespeare has retreated from the world, his quill unmoved and his future uncertain. When Queen Elizabeth I delivers an ultimatum – produce a new play or face the end of theatre as we know it – Shakespeare's escape is shattered. Enter Yorick, a loud-mouth talking skeleton whose irreverence and relentless humour force Shakespeare to confront the very things he's been avoiding.
