Spindle Ensemble

About
Led by composer and pianist Daniel Inzani with tuned percussionist Harriet Riley, cellist Jo Silverston and violinist Caelia Lunniss, contemporary chamber quartet, Spindle Ensemble (Hidden Notes) have garnered much praise for their unique brand of neo-impressionism rooted in notated music and improvisation.Equally at home playing concert halls as record shops, Spindle Ensemble's gig at Rattle and Brash will follow a three-day residency; come and experience a group of musicians fully immersed in making new music.
Listeners may hear influences from composers such as Satie, Pärt, Ravel, Reich, Glass and Zappa’s favourite composer Varèse in their music but might also find the soundtracks of Morricone and the minimalist aesthetics of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra nestled alongside the more experimental leanings of groups such as Rachel’s, Esmerine, Bell Orchestre and Amiina.
