Chamber Domaine, acclaimed in The Times their “superb artistry,” perform J S Bach’s iconic Brandenburg Concertos III and VI. Written in 1721 for Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg, the Six Brandenburg Concertos are richly inventive and are rightly considered to be some of the greatest music ever written.

New companion pieces by Deborah Pritchard, Zöe Martlew and Stevie Wishart complement these works.  Deborah Pritchard’s Illumination - premiered at Malling Abbey in 2022 is a joyous and colourful work inspired by Brandenburg III. Zöe Martlew - Bacharolle provides a slow movement to Brandenburg III that was commissioned by Wigmore Hall and premiered by Chamber Domaine in June 2025. Stevie Wishart’s Gold and Precious Silver is a response to Brandenburg VI based on a chant sung at Malling Abbey dedicated to the Saxon Princess St. Eanswythe and features a blackbird singing in the virtuosic harpsichord writing.

The programme includes the UK premiere of David Lang - shade and its partner piece wed. “Lang, once a post minimalist enfant terrible, has solidified his standing as an American master.” The New Yorker
