About
The Oral Health Champion Training is provided by the Worcestershire Oral Health Team and aims to help your staff:• Understand why good oral health is important.
• Have an awareness of the improving oral health NICE guidance and CQC requirements for care homes.
• Understand the causes of dental diseases and how to prevent them.
• Increase confidence in carrying out a mouth care assessment on a resident.
• Support residents with their daily mouth care.
• Enable staff to access dental care for residents.
The Oral Health Champion Training is in person, free, and lasts for half a day. It is for 3 members of staff from your home.
At least 1 of the 3 members of staff who attend the training must be a care home manager.
Staff who attend the training will then be awarded an Oral Health Champion certificate to enable them to train other members of staff in the home.
