Little Shop of Horrors - John Lyon's School Musical
Description
Little Shop of Horrors is a deliciously dark musical comedy that blends 1960s pop-rock with offbeat humour, heart and a touch of horror. The story centres on Seymour Krelborn, a meek florist’s assistant who stumbles upon a mysterious plant he names “Audrey II.” As the strange plant grows, so does Seymour’s fame – but he soon discovers that Audrey II has a secret appetite that’s far from ordinary.
Featuring a catchy 1960s-style score, colourful characters and a blend of humour and horror; the show is both entertaining and thought-provoking. With a live professional orchestra, this production is a highlight of the John Lyon School calendar, and we warmly invite you to join us.
Suitability
While the production is playful in tone, parents are advised it does include scenes of implied violence, a controlling/abusive relationship dynamic, some potentially frightening moments involving a carnivorous plant, and humorous references to death and misuse of laughing gas. Parental discretion is advised, especially for younger or sensitive children.
