Northampton Bach Choir - Da Vinci Requiem

About
Mendelssohn - 'Hebrides Overture'Brahms - 'Song of Destiny' ('Schicksalied')
McDowall - 'Da Vinci Requiem'
This programme brings together works that explore themes of destiny and the enduring human spirit. The main work is Cecilia McDowall's 'Da Vinci Requiem' combining Latin text with selections from Da Vinci's notebooks. The concert also features Brahms's 'Song of Destiny' in which heavenly life is contrasted with the struggle of life on earth.
The orchestra, the Bach Camarata, will also perform Mendelssohn's 'The Hebrides' with images of being buffeted at sea, yet also finding repose and stillness.
Booking opens to Friends on 12th September (public ticket sales open 26.9.25). Friends will be invited to a short pre-concert talk by the Musical Director, Simon Toyne. If you are interested in becoming a Friend and receiving these and other annual benefits, you can buy membership through TryBooking or visit the Northampton Bach Choir website for more information.
