Monks' Pilgrimage

The walk is under 5 miles, and purposefully heads downhill.The route mimics the Dunfermline Abbey monks penitence walk to Limekilns.
The Rev Dr MaryAnn Rennie will lead the walk.
More details of the walk:
- Total distance is 4.7 miles, ascent 60m, descent 198m
- We will be walking at a slow pace suitable for walkers of all abilities.
- The walk should take between 2-2.5 hours.
- Much of the route off road, but there are narrow pavements and a busy road in places.
Walkers are asked to ensure they are dressed for the weather and wearing appropriate footwear for walking through fields as well as pavements and paths. Please ensure you are carrying water.
Once we reach Limekilns, walkers are to make their own way home (or back to Dunfermline Abbey). Stagecoach no 6 leaves from outside the Bruce Arms Hotel and takes 16 minutes to return to Dunfermline.
Some may want to retrace their steps or visit one of the local eating places for lunch.
