Step back into Regency Preston on this elegant guided promenade led by Elaine Taylor, renowned garden historian.Your afternoon begins with afternoon tea in the beautiful Winckley Square Gardens, where you’ll enjoy a refreshing Pimm’s and delicious cake in a truly historic setting.
From there, follow in the footsteps of Preston’s former residents as you promenade through Winckley Square Gardens, along the scenic Avenham Walk, and into Avenham Park. Along the way, Elaine will bring the past to life, sharing how these much-loved gardens have evolved over the centuries.
A special highlight of the walk is the chance to visit two fascinating private gardens, normally closed to the public and opened for one day only.
This is our most popular walk of the year and takes place on just one day, so early booking is strongly recommended.
