A Day of Discovery of Cornish Treasure, at Upton Cross

About
The Director at Meadow Barns Centre for Climate Hope is delighted to accept an invitation from STERTS, to bring their unique style of outdoor learning activity to the village, on the Sunday of Autumn Half Term (October 26th).Developed in 2024 with support from the UK government and Exeter University, the theme is metal mining - past, present and future - and this day will be an introduction to Rocks, Ores, Metals and Making Money.
We have spaces in the morning and more in the afternoon, but for only 4 teams at a time to play at hunting the treasure. So please gather a group of up to 5 people, all ages from 3 to 103 can take part, and book yourselves in. Prepare for tons of fun and amazement at what you can find beneath your feet, when you know what to look for.
A small extra element, but significant for this area, will be when you hear the facts of mines being re-opened and worked nearby. If interested, there is a chance to study this in greater depth and gain an award in 2026.
