Join us on Saturday 13th December for a heartwarming evening of festive music as Cadenza and members of Castle Brass unite for our annual Christmas concert — a night brimming with beauty, tradition, and joy. This programme offers a rich tapestry of choral and brass favourites to lift your spirits and welcome the season in style.From timeless carols like Once in Royal David’s City and O Come All Ye Faithful to exquisite choral gems such as Rorate Cœli by Jacobus Handl and Jesus Christ the Apple Tree by Elizabeth Poston, the evening spans centuries of Christmas music, celebrating its depth and warmth.
Richard Rodney Bennett’s evocative Five Carols form a centrepiece, and the rest of the programme is filled with a selection of other seasonal pieces, both familiar, and less familiar. Sit back, enjoy the music, and a glass of something during the interval, and get into the Christmas spirit with us.
Under the direction of Timothy Coleman, Cadenza brings vitality, passion, and rich vocal colour to every performance. Castle Brass adds festive sparkle with their radiant brass interludes.
