Pagan Carols and Solstice Songs - Singing Workshop
About
Pagan Carols and Solstice Songs - Seasonal Singing Workshop & Celebration with Selena MaraRe-connect with the pre-Christian tradition of celebrating the Winter Solstice, when the light returns with the newly-growing days.
Come with your friends to sing a wonderful collection of original, traditional and reclaimed carols and songs all on the theme of the Midwinter festival!
The songs will be taught by ear, with lyric sheets, and we’ll have a break in the middle for seasonal treats and delicious hot mulled apple juice.
Join us to honour the turning of the season for its ancient, natural roots... like in the lyrics of my own Winter Solstice song : 'In the heart of darkness is the seed of light'

'I loved gathering in the cosy village hall to sing the Pagan Carols and Solstice Songs. There was a warm, friendly feel to the workshop, and the songs were a great mixture of old and new, fun and heartfelt.
Selena's mandolin added a magical touch to the sound of our uplifted voices. A meaningful, musical way to come together locally and celebrate the Winter Solstice!'
This is it's 6th occasion now, it's been so popular before.
You are invited to bring tea-time snacks to share during the break,e.g. mince pies; to munch with the mulled juice, so we can have a real community celebration.
Come Join the Merry Throng!
Please note: Children are welcome only if they are happy to join in with the singing or play quietly. We have found in the past that noisy children make it hard for the singers to enjoy the workshop. We hope you understand.
We look forward to seeing you there :)
Tickets are £11 in advance, £13 on the door. Teens £5/£6.
